More coming next week.
And that was it! It was a fun-filled three days. Thank you everyone for participating (either in person or online)!!
#NERCCS2025
Closing with a flourish, David Sloan shares with us an inspiring unifying vision between the paradigm of complex systems in its different adaptive and evolutionary facets. We definitely need a synthesis, which will lead us to a new understanding of collectivity.
#NERCCS2025
Now the final #NERCCS2025 keynote speaker David Sloan Wilson talking about complex systems and generalized Darwinism!!
Closing the afternoon #complexnetworks session, Akshay Ganadhar discusses how to use network centrality as a benchmark to characterize high-relevant papers in scientific literature.
#NERCCS2025
Now Saiful Islam tells us about his work on using #multilayernetworks to capture complex interactions between gene communities that co-express each other.
#NERCCS2025
Starting the last session of the whole #NERCCS2025 we had Nelson FernΓ‘ndez talking about how to use analytics in order to characterize performance metrics in soccer. β½
Our second keynote speaker today is JoaquΓn GoΓ±i, who gave a wonderful talk on how to measure functional connectivity based on differential geometry. His results are useful for the identification and reconfiguration of brain modules.
#NERCCS2025
Second keynote of the day at #NERCCS2025 Joaquin Goni talks about functional connectivity of the brain
Arriving late to #NERCCS2025 due to an exam, but now closing the morning #complexnetworks session we had Ziqi Guo discussing her approach to integrating social media data, knowledge graphs and network sparsification with application to epilepsy monitoring.
Our final speaker on the second day of #NERCCS2025 is Jeremy Blackburn, who gave us a historical overview of the Internet, followed by his methodology for tracking radical communities on social media that turn out to be relevant to real social events.
Final keynote of #NERCCS2025 Day 2 Jeremy Blackburn discusses AI and Society, and how we came to where we are today
#NERCCS2025 keynote by @mrjimmyblack.com on AI and Society
Closing the last session of the day, @skojaku.bsky.social discussed a new methodology to visualize the evolution of ideas based on spatial representation. His advances give us insights on the relationship between embedding distance and flux, which follows an inverse power law.
#NERCCS2025
We just had Kaj Hansteen Izora, who by means of a board game, is currently exploring the usage of Large Language Models to simulate social group dynamics. His model shows interesting emergent properties from the agents, such as adaptability.
#NERCCS2025
Continuing the #AI and Society session, Danushka Bandara explains how to use brain activity data to classify human trust in artificial intelligence. His results can help us to build a reliable measure of trust can lead to better AI systems.
#NERCCS2025
Now kicking off the second parallel session of the day we had Akshay Ganadhar talking about how to use #adaptivenetworks to explore the unpredictability of opinion trajectories.
#NERCCS2025
Our second keynote speaker at #NERCCS2025 was RΓ©ka Albert! She introduced us to the art of Boolean modeling, with a clear emphasis on biological systems. Despite its simplicity, Boolean networks result effective when capturing robustness and adaptability of real organisms. π¦
