Our latest work combining #NHCs and #photochemistry in facile carbonyl reductions is now out in BJOC @beilstein-institut.bsky.social! Congrats to first author Michael and the whole team! @fubcp.bsky.social @chemistryncl.bsky.social @sciencesncl.bsky.social www.beilstein-journals.org/bjoc/article...
Small but mighty 💪 : #MOLECULES change the properties of #MATERIALS!
A multidisciplinary team 😀😎🥳🤠 of scientists from Berlin, Muenster & Rome successfully placed CARBENES #NHCs covalently on a III-V Semiconductor, causing large work function reductions.

We have just published a short overview article explaining the concepts copper catalysys with bifunctional ligands published recently. @synlettjournal.bsky.social.
It's a short read, check it out here: www.thieme-connect.com/products/ejo...

Red labels are used at the MNCN-CSIC Ent. Collection to label type specimens. The image shows sheets with syntype (sintipo), paralectotype (paralectotipo), paratype (paratipo) and holotype (holotipo) labels. Source: our own Photo credits: A. Sánchez Albert
This week, we present another edition of our #TaxonomicBites series. This time: type material!
Among the samples #NHCs hold, type specimens stand out for their important role: setting the base for species delimitation. 🧩
They are usually highlighted with red labels! 🔴🏷️
🚨 I forgot to mention that the making of the exhibition was possible thanks to several Spanish entomology collections: MNCN-CSIC, UCM and UAM
In the 21st century, #NHCs remain an invaluable source of materials and inspiration for artists! 🙌🏻🏛️
🗳️ How do the major parties compare on leadership, financing and governance? ✨

What is #FocusStacking?
It's a technique of combining the in-focus bits from a series, or stack, of images.
Software automagically determines the parts of each image that are in focus and combines these parts into e a single (2D) image with all areas of the image in focus.
