June 4th was my first mammogram and August 5th is my surgery.

My advice from all this:

Don't wait until you are almost killed by a moose to act.

Just get the mammogram.

It's easy to schedule.

It can absolutely save your life.

Well that was a bust.
811 triage said the NP can make the referral to a surgeon for the biopsy, and the NP says 'nah, we can't"
So, now I'm just chillin' at the ER delaying someone else's treatment, so I can get a referral.
3 wasted days.

Got the callback at 7:46.
Appointment with the nurse practitioner is set for Sunday at 6.
They will send the requisition for the biopsy.
They said it will be scheduled quickly.
I just need it to not be July 5, 6, or 7 because those are the ONLY days I'm out of town all summer.

Breast cancer screening mammogram today, because I'm over 50.
It was easy to call in for an appointment and I got one within two weeks.
The screening is what it is, but the staff were pleasant and the process was quick.

This was reported on CBC this morning. Of the 150+ new nursing grads in April, ONLY THREE were offered positions here in the province. That includes people who were born and live here. "We prefer to deal with private nursing agencies. They're easier to make happy." WTF?? #nlhealthcare #nlpoli
