What a gorgeous golden buttercup! It was great to hear @organicbotanic.bsky.social's brilliant talk at yesterday's #NPMS10 event at #OxfordIsland, and learn some great tips on taking better #wildflower photos! @bsbibotany.bsky.social @cedar-ni.bsky.social @npms.bsky.social @plantlifeuk.bsky.social
One buttercup flower seeming very large in photo as it takes up most of the space. The shot is taken from below looking up to the sky.
Busy with #NPMS10 so no #WildFungiHour pics.

One solitary flower from Aster family - against the water of the Lough. The flower has white "petals" and a yellow centre showing the fibonacci spirals
Last of the Ragwort - a few yellow flowers against the backdrop of the water of Lough Neagh. The sun going down cats yellow across thew water and highlights the flowers.

One purple flower head, slightly thistle like but not prickly. Water of the Lough behind the flower is blue reflecting the sky. Joyful heads of Knapweed flowering beside the water of Lough Neagh. Seen the patterns on the involucral bracts for first time. The pattern is of swirling curvy lines in pale brown against a darker brown.

Spindle trees are native but not seen in hedgerows much as many were removed due to harbouring black aphid during WWII - the orange seed is an aril, and the pink outer fruits are astonishingly beautiful. Here there leaves are still green but they turn russet colour so I will go back to see this.
