It's been steadily growing cloudy & dark here. The wind has picked up dramatically and the air smells of petrichor.
I'm hoping we get some rain from those clouds!

A firepit master reaches into a metal pipe pit with a shovel to gently stir the wood. Red and orange flames reach upwards, with a few sparks floating around. There's a tin tub just under the opening, ready to catch the spent ash as it's removed.

This fire is kept going through the night, slow smoking various meats for the next days customers. I'm told this place regularly sells out of everything within a few hours of opening.

There's a big storm happening off to the west of us. Apparently it's pretty vicious, with huge hail, high speed wind, and rain.

I can smell the rain, but I think we won't get any of it here in #NWAustin tonight.

Stormy skies over NW Austin earlier today. I think it's passed us by, so no rain for us, but then again that also means no hail or tornado threats, so I'll take it.

Lots of wind now, and some thunder, but that was awhile ago.
