Every time I've walked up to my dolls on display (three times now), someone was taking pictures of them. That's honestly enough for me. I'm so glad people like them.

I already have (less political) plans for next year, but I also have not given up on the #NaeKingsQuilt

I have put #NaeKingsQuilt on another timeout, but I still had a hankering to sew this morning. I dusted off an alteration project I started months ago, so i can finally get it off my mental UFO list

I just keep finding joins in the #NaeKingsQuilt that I'm deeply unhappy with and I am now contemplating redoing the entire two tone brown contrast stripe

Now that #ProtestDolls are sent off to sleep away camp, I'm turning my focus back to #NaeKingsQuilt, and I'm determined to do it to perfection. I unpicked this row again and stitched it for the third time, and it was WORTH IT

Not so much about the #ProtestDolls... I do plan on having them done this week. But #NaeKingsQuilt terrifies me

My goal for this weekend is to finish the sewing for #ProtestDolls

This means:
🔳 Finishing flannel shirt
🔳 Making hoodie
🔳 Pair of Shoes 1
🔳 Pair of Shoes 2
🔳 Pair of Shoes 3

I'll worry about styling and sign making later. Once the dolls are all sewn up, I can start piecing together #NaeKingsQuilt

Washing the fabric for #NaeKingsQuilt, and doing some reading while I wait. Then it's back to sewing!

Michaels was a bust for #NaeKingsQuilt fabrics. I really didn't want to have to brave construction to go to the Burnsville SR Harris again, but needs must, apparently.

So, I definitely need to be more careful measuring, stitching, etc... And I totally effed up the measurement on the joining strip, but this just might work

In the real thing, the narrow strips will be darker than the bigger pieces

I cut the muslin pieces for #HeyWheresPerry out of both bleached and unbleached, and in a stroke of genius I realized I could cut the strips for the #NaeKingsQuilt out of those pieces. Boom! Waste not, want not!
