Nails and Nodes String Data Art is an original data craft practice that combines social network analysis, string art, and digital humanities.

After a lot of thinking, here’s the first skeleton of the bilingual #NailsandNodes GitHub repository for sharing with the #DhMakes community letrasendanza.github.io/nails-and-no...

Now I’m still committed to using GitHub and Story MapJS for #NailsandNodes
But I keep asking myself:
Should I let go of my insistence on open access?
Should I stop “fighting” with GitHub and institutional infrastructures?
What does sustainability really mean in digital work?

#DHMakes community I want to give a trademark to #NailsandNodes and officially register it. Anyone has ever done something similar? Any advise would be super helpful!

Today in #Dhtries and #DhMakes I ordered stickers with the new logo for #NailsandNodes. Guess what? Most of them arrived with printing errors

In the coming weeks, I’ll be choosing the repository structure that fits best and starting the serious planning phase for #NailsAndNodes

And as always, I’ll keep sharing the process with the #DHMakes community that honestly give me the strengh to accpet the challenge and keep going with my Data Art

After conversations with the Associate Dean at CNU, I’ve been given the time, funding, and freedom to develop a GitHub repository giving String Data Art its own dedicated space to grow.

#DHMakes The new String Dat Art piece is taking shape! Now I have most of the edges in place and the legend panels ready. As you can see the colors match!

Next step: painting the nodes according to the artist’s role #NailsandNodes

After finishing a color, I go back to the very first nail to tie another knot. Then I join the leftover thread from both knots and glue it down. Just to make sure the whole network stays secure and nothing unravels later! #DHMakes #NailsandNodes

Today at #NailsandNodes, I decided it would be best to start by putting some hangers on the back. Last time was the last time, and I didn't put them on at the end because they damaged the piece. #DHMakes

I really wanted to do the SNA of Teatro de Arte and their hybrid pieces, but I would need a bigger wood! Quite sad, but here we go again with #DhMakes and a new chapter of #NailsandNodes. Ready?
