These particular buffalo I saw in Yellowstone but there are many other buffalo living outside of national lands since the herds are regrowing after their near decimation in the nineteenth century. If you are very lucky, one day you will see a herd at one of the many wild locations throughout the northwestern part of the United States and Canada where they live. When you do, it will feel like a magical vision. A gift from the gods. I have added a pattern based on a Lakota parfleche bag to the painting because this is one of the tribes whose land was taken to form Yellowstone National Park.
