A group of people stand holding banners in a park with Big Ben in the background. Carla Denyer MP is in the middle, holding a banner which says 'I support a new law holding companies and the public sector to account for harm to people and planet.' The other banners say things like 'Exploitation is no picnic' and 'Don't let UK companies picnic on the planet.'

UK has certainly got the right weather for the penultimate day of its #NationalPicnicWeek but it doesn't have the record for the largest picnic. That's held by Portuguese marketeers who attracted 22,232 people to the Parque da Bela Vista, Lisbon, for outdoor goodies #onthisday (20 June 2009) 🍜

🌞Exploitation is no picnic - so we’re marking #NationalPicnicWeek by handing in the Corporate Justice Coalition's #BizHumanRights petition at Downing Street and the Department for Business and Trade.

145,000 people called for this new law - including 33,000 from Transform Trade!
