These tiny yellow flowers are what I liken to super buttercups! They are bright yellow and hug the ground with tiny crown of spiked green leaves around each flower. Their stamen and pollen pods look like bright yellow/light orange clover centers.
Winters chill gives way to the first blooms of 2025 in my garden. Winter Aconite is a very small ground cover. This beautiful flower is one of the first flowers to bloom each Spring. I have even seen them bloom with snow at their base.
