Brown pelicans with outstretched wings glide low over a blue green sea, beyond lies a line of white surf and in the distant mist rise hill-sized offshore rocks.

Another pair came by and briefly lifted up and over the kayak

Take off for a pair of brown pelicans as they run and flap into the air.

A kayak's eye view of an approaching pair of pelicans, they are in glide mode, skimming the surface 'ground effect' cushion of air. Riding the slow current of a river estuary took me through a large gathering of seabirds.
