166 new voters added to Kabbe South voters’ roll The Electoral Commission of Namibia on Monday released and displayed the full provisional voters’ register for the Kabbe South constituency at the Nakabolelwa Constituency Office. The display follows the successful completion of the supplementary registration of voters (SRV) in the constituency, which ran from 10 to 12 April 2025. During this period, 166 new voters were registered, including individuals who replaced lost or damaged voter’s cards, or who relocated to the constituency. Zambezi regional electoral officer Lesley Simwanza confirmed the release of the provisional voters’ register at Nakabolelwa on Monday. The register was displayed until 17h00 yesterday. “The register has all the names of the eligible voters in that constituency, including those recently registered in the SRV. It is open to everyone to see and object to any names that appear on it, if any. It is provisional at present, and if there are any objections, they can be looked into and possibly be amended and finally gazetted before the scheduled by-elections in the constituency,” said Simwanza. The provisional register currently lists over 3 500 eligible voters. The by-election was necessitated by the resignation of the former constituency councillor, John Likando, who is now a member of the National Assembly. Likando resigned last month.
