Beautiful Watkins Glen State Park in Schuyler County, New York #newyorkstateparks

Taughannock (pronounced Tuh-GAN-uck) falls is the tallest waterfall in New York State, located in Trumansburg, just outside of Ithaca.

The walk to the falls is through a gorge of exposed rock formations, created when the last ice age melted and these gorges were formed.

A narrow stone staircase winds upward through a deep gorge between moss-covered rock walls. Natural limestone layers form angular shelves and crevices on both sides. Weathered stone steps with metal handrail lead through the shadowed passage toward bright green foliage visible at the top opening.

Kiddo and I went to Letchworth State Park today, and walked down to the bridge by the Lower Falls. Stopped by an overlook to see the Upper Falls. It was a nice day for it. #newyorkstateparks #letchworthstatepark

Beautiful hike on the rim trail at Buttermilk Falls State Park. The gorge trail is closed because much of it is pure ice.
