Oh, one thing about the newly announced Rapid Storage that we found out: it isn’t multi-zonal. That kills it for our usage. Kind of bummed. #next25
#googlecloud #next25 is likely only worth it if you can snag time with Googlers. Maybe next year they’ll let more customers tell their stories without Google’s peeps acting as bookends in sessions. We _want_ to hear the failures to learn.
One of the things I’ve learned is that our experience with getting past support if you have a clue is not unique. Given how many of the sessions were run, I can’t say I’m too surprised. Not a lot of depth and much of the content is repetitive (incl during opening keynote!) #next25

I still wish ZFS send/recv functionality worked like SnapMirror. The ability to write live is a big one if you have an app that can support broken files while they are in transit. #next25
