Last Saturday, I’ve attended a screening of Simon Moutaïrou’s debut feature #NoChainsNoMasters at #QuadCinema. Set in 1759 on the Isle de France (Mauritius), the film sheds light on the largely untold history of marronage in French colonies, honoring those who escaped plantation life. Go see it!

Was blown away by the film #NoChainsNoMasters! The thought-provoking movie directed by Simon Moutaïrou takes the audience on a journey of enslavement, to escape, to reconnecting to their roots to deciding what it takes to live their lives on their own terms. The film is now playing at @quadcinema.
