On August 8, 1981, IRA Volunteer Thomas McElwee, from Bellaghy in South Derry, died at the age of 23 after 62 days on hunger strike. He gave his life for the cause of a united Ireland, free from British colonial oppression.✊🏼🍀💚🤍🧡☘️
