Democrats should agree to the save act with the amendment that the federal government will provide free and easy to obtain national ID to vote. No one should need to buy a certified copy of their birth certificate or marriage license to vote.

I honestly have no problem with a government ID being required at the polls to vote.
The issue I have is that voters should not be required to pay for an ID that allows them to vote. If the government wants voter ID laws then they need to cover 💯 the ID costs for 💯 of *all* voters.
