The second annotated scribble page for my ‘No Titan Attack’ AU. The title of the AU is displayed as a rearranged version of the English-language title of the canon story, with ‘on’ flipped to read ‘no’, put at a slight angle, and underlined. The title is also in a gentle blue and has a tiny ‘OK’ hand gesture next to ‘Attack’, further emphasising the great amount of chill. Under the title, we see the three main stories of the AU visually represented with the heads of the respective main characters: Levi’s Story, Zeke’s Story, and The Young’uns, represented by a long-haired young adult Eren. Of the three, Eren is the only one who is smiling. All three are circled in gold, indicating that they are featured on this scribble page, although Zeke’s circle is thinner than the other two since his appearance on this page is rather thinner in substance. In the first section beneath the title on the left side, we see the canon and AU versions of a young adult Eren contrasted with each other. Under the title ‘canon’, we see two headshots of Eren: one with his long hair down, and one with it tied back into a messy bun. In both, his expression is dour and serious. Next to the first headshot, there is Red Text reading, “Long hair of despair,” and next to the second, the Red Text reads, “Messy bun of CBA.” Under the title ‘No Titan Attack AU’, we see another two headshots of Eren with his two hairstyles, each facing the opposite direction to the canon headshots. In the one with his hair down, Eren displays a wide, toothy grin, scrunching up his face as he throws a devil horns gesture with his right hand. Red Text next to it reads, “Long hair of metal joy.” In the picture with his hair in a messy bun, Eren simply smiles pleasantly at the camera with his head tilted slightly to his left. Red Text reads, “Messy bun of metal chill,” with emphasis on ‘chill’. Then in brackets, it says, “Eren Jaeger, chill?! Well, that’s the magic of metal. Peaceful face.” Alt text continues in next pic!
Immediately to the right of this section is a tiny section dedicated solely to a picture of Sasha sinking her teeth into an enormous, chunky piece of rib meat that’s still on a large bone, which she is using as a handle. Her expression appears almost maniacally blissed-out. Red Text reads, in all-caps, “Chumky rib. Munch on, my girl.” Beneath these first two sections is one dedicated to Levi and the daughter he had with Petra, whose name is Isabel. There is a picture of Levi dressed in casual summer clothing walking with Isabel, who is about 3 or 4 years old and is wearing a cute dress with short, puffy sleeves. Her hair is in low bunches. She seems to be looking over at something in amazement while Levi says something to her. Next to this, we see two headshots of Isabel. One of them shows her as a young child with her hair in bunches, and the other shows her at about 14 years of age, with her hair now long, partly tied back into a ponytail at the top and partly loose below, with two front segments of loose hair framing each side of her face. The next picture shows a teenage Isabel facing away from a frowning Levi, who makes an emphatic pointing gesture as he says to her, “Anyway, you’re grounded.” Isabel calmly responds, “No.” Levi is taken aback at this and demands, “What do you mean ‘no’?!” Red Text next to all this reads, “Levi Ackerman is a widowed father of one. His daughter’s name, Isabel, reflects his determination to do whatever it takes to protect her… a drive so intense, it causes conflict when she reaches her teens.” An additional bracket reads, “He’s been through some shit, okay? She doesn’t know this, though.” Alt text continues in the next picture!
Next is a section featuring Levi and Hanji. Levi is about 50 years old and Hanji is in their late 40s. We see a tired and deeply troubled-looking Levi sitting slightly slumped forwards at a table with his right hand clutching at his head and partway through his hair. He thinks to himself, “I… might just be in over my head here. Oh Petra… what do I do…?” The end of his last thought is interrupted by a “Hey” coming from the doorway. He looks over and sees Hanji, who is leaning against the doorframe with arms folded, smiling sympathetically at him. Hanji says, “You look like you could do with a cuppa!” to which Levi responds, “Oh, that’d be great, thanks, Hanji.” Finally, we see the two of them sitting with hot mugs of tea. Levi, holding the mug by the rim instead of by the handle as is characteristic of him, eagerly drinks the hot beverage; he seems to be enjoying it greatly. Meanwhile, Hanji looks over at him and smiles, holding the hot mug in both hands. Red Text 1 says, “Throughout all the difficult times that Levi has to contend with, Hanji is there to provide support. The two maintain a close friendship for life.” Red Text 2 says, “Tea! It won’t fix your problems, but it will certainly help you feel less shit about them.” In the gap between the two Red Texts is a small section featuring Isabel. Only the top of her head is visible, from her eyes up. She peers expressionlessly over the bottom of the page and right out at you. “At me?!” you ask. Yes, you! But not to worry. She’s probably just curious. Alt text continues in the next picture!
On the other side of the page, we go back in time again to when Levi is in his late 30s, and Eren 18 or so. Levi is seen looking at the camera and gesturing towards Eren, saying, “He knows the value of cleaning.” Eren reacts with an odd mixture of gladness, confusion, and fear. He appears to be sweating bullets and there are three little question marks over his head. Red Text says, “Eren has ended up in Levi’s good books, though he doesn’t seem to remember how.” Right beneath this, Red Text reads, “Zeke, on the other hand. Dot dot dot.” We see a jovial-looking bespectacled Zeke quipping as he walks away from Levi, “Why so grouchy? LOL.” Levi is visibly annoyed. In the next picture, Levi charges at Zeke while wielding a broom. His eyes are red and teeth gritted. Zeke runs away with an, “Eek!” Red Text reads, “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Peaceful face.” Finally, we see Zeke without his glasses recounting what happened to Pieck. Zeke grimaces in fear as he says, “I swear he came at me with superhuman speed! What a monster!” Pieck is amused by the tale and lightly chuckles as she says, “Maybe don’t antagonise him, then?”
