STATEMENT: ICJP Canada Requests U.S. Personality Michael Rapaport be Denied Entry to Canada. ICJP Canada has filed a formal request with Canadian officials asking that U.S. personality Michael Rapaport be denied entry to the country due to his recent expressions of support for the "Kahane way" - a reference to anti- Palestinian terrorist Meir Kahane. This request was submitted to Immigration Minister Marc Miller, and asked that he exercise his discretion under section 22.1(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act to deny Rapaport entrance to Canada on the basis of public policy considerations. The same concerns were also raised with Minister of Public Safety David McGuinty and brought to the attention of the Canada Border Services Agency. Rapaport is scheduled to visit Canada next week. On February 20, 2025, he reposted a post which stated "The only way is Kahane way. Period." This insistence on the "Kahane way" includes a video clip of Meir Kahane, the founder of Kahane Chai (also known as the Kahane Movement) - a banned terrorist entity in Canada.

Rapaport reposting that "the only way is Kahane way" and stating that "Kahane was always right", when taken in combination with his vitriolic anti-Palestinian racism on X, is entirely inconsistent with Canadian public policy. Furthermore, these statements are not only contrary to the values of human rights which underpin the social and cultural fabric of Canadian society, but they potentially pose a risk to the safety and security of Canadian society - and particularly to Palestinian-Canadians. This is of heightened concern given current global events and the efforts to facilitate peace and justice in the occupied Palestinian territory.
