Too many of those sorts are being emboldened "Entitled" is too nice a word Society said her body isn't hers The law upheld that her body isn't hers (times never changed) She's not the prettiest No, certainly not, but it wasn't about beauty It was about power Snakes and shrikes looking for prey And, in the grand scheme, she is but a mouse Too many are emboldened To take what's not theirs She's defiant (bless it or curse it) Society said her body isn't hers The law upheld that her body isn't hers She didn't want them to touch her It was irrational, certainly, self-destruction is However, to her, they wouldn't want to touch her If she cut herself to pieces Burned herself until she blistered Anything to mar and mutilate The shell that held her being It's her body, isn't it? If it isn't hers, then it won't be theirs, either.
