On Friday after the school strike, we invite you to a conversation with contemporary witness Armin Lufer.

Over 100,000 child soldiers died senselessly in the final years of German fascism's war of extermination.

From the Hitler Youth to the Volkssturm to the ‘third reserve,’ children were recruited for the fascist madness of the ‘final victory’ – many of them with complete conviction.

Armin Lufer from Brandenburg survived German fascism as a Hitler Youth member and child soldier.

Throughout his long life, Armin Lufer learned lessons from these experiences, which he passed on to school classes even into his old age.

The almost 100-year-old is now enjoying his well-deserved retirement in Oranienburg, Brandenburg, but precisely because plans to reintroduce compulsory military service mean that a young generation could potentially be sent to war again, he wants to share his experiences once more with young people, their parents and grandparents, and anyone who has a serious interest in world peace.
