My first #nocmig setup here on a busy Manchester street. It’s a song meter micro 2 with with smallrig clamp on 3rd floor balcony. The one probable is the noise from the street below: if anyone has any tips to try and drown out the anthropogenic noise, I’m all ears!

I remember a talk by Andrew Grieve about Blacktoft Sands when he talked about the discovery of 100's of Common Scoters flying up the Humber heading inland. Since taking up #nocmig I still find it amazing when I get recordings of scoters over Doncaster in the dead of night

Need some help with #nocmig please. Chirpty picks up barn owl calling. Last night it picked it up over 5k times!! There is a constant white noise hiss throughout the entire session which is visible on the graph a set of pale lines. I assume it low frequency noise as I can't hear it when outside..

Big movement of Redwing on Oakdale #nocmig last night. 327 calls 20:30-22:15 as well as 16 Blackbird & 1 S.Thrush. Only 22 Redwing logged after that to 05:00. Also, Curlew & Brent picked up. @harbourbirds.bsky.social @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social
