I've been visiting a school and teaching children to sew as part of my residency with #NorthMidlandsProject
While making joyful rosettes, the children learned basic stitches and how to sew on buttons (and sequins!)
I loved hearing them declare, "I can sew!"

Walking, wandering, and wondering. Looking and seeing. I love a walk with no destination or reason. I spend so much time sitting as I work (making textile art), so these walks do actually have a purpose.

Pretty quiet day in Carnamah yesterday. Working in the studio, chatting with gallery visitors, walking everywhere. Final week feelings.

Residency life. Big sky country.

The day view was on the way to Coorow this morning for a workshop. The night views were at Macpherson Homestead in Carnamah last night, farewelling another artist in residence.

The 'before' photo from today's workshop at the fabulous Gardiner Street Arts Collective in Moora. Stitches were done, skills were shared, conversations were had, and connections were forged.

I'm so lucky that this is my job.

Tender - living gently in troubling times, is at the Gardiner Street Arts Collective in Moora, WA, throughout May.

'Using found and imperfect materials, her art reflects care, sustainability, and thoughtful resistance.' True!
