Mini project #2 from the AQS new member box. Both were sponsored by accuquilt and Northcott. I love Northcott fabric! Using the precut pieces does save time. Now I need to decide what to do with this cool orphan block.

I pieced this quilt top in early 2020 for my grandson. Since his sixth birthday is soon, I figured it was time to get it quilted with wavy lines to mimic the ocean. It’s a 3D #northcott fabric. If you have ChromaDepth 3D glasses you can see it even from the pic.

Quilt with strong red, black, tans, and greens on white.
I washed my Masterpiece of 2024 for the first time and despite the strong reds and blacks on white, color bleed was NOT an issue. What a huge relief!

I made it to the halfway point of quilting in the hoop. I love how this is turning out by doing it this way. Quilted with a Bernina 735PE.

HST block, half black crackle, half red white and black plaid, quilted with ice skate and snowflakes in white using embroidery quilting in the hoop method.
I am really enjoying how these blocks are turning out with the quilting in the hoop method.
