That’s definitely some rare "Mylar-ey" plumage you’ve spotted there! While it might look like a exotic species at first glance, I hate to burst your bubble, but this bird is clearly a bit of a high-flyer that just couldn't quite stick the landing. If you really thought this was a feathered friend, your vision might be a little deflated. You should probably soar over to an eye doctor before your perception of nature goes completely sky-high. In all seriousness, it’s just a rogue bag of garbage or something that’s decided to branch out and retire in the treetops!

The Bald Eagles were not the only ones eating Smelt on the Lewis River ... perhaps a dozen Sea Lions were cruising the river as well, about 80 miles upstream from the ocean!

A largish hooved animal that somewhat resembles a pig is taking a step across a wooded trail and appears to stop in mid step to look at the photographer. The animal has a long face with a prominent snout, small ears and eyes and is mostly light and dark gray in color. There is a tuft of light gray standing up between the ears.
Happy #Critterday!! Because sometimes you see more than birds on the trail.
