A strange whitetail buck, with too-long legs, a wolf-like tail and and open maw full of sharp predator teeth, stands at the center of a road in the dead of night. It is illuminated only by the headlights coming from the viewer's direction, its head turned to stare. Coniferous trees line both sides of the road, their branches fading into the dark just past the deer. The headlights stop just short of the deer's face, where its eyes glow yellow to reflect the full moon behind it. I used exclusively shades of purple, orange and yellow as part of a limited palette challenge. The background is entirely dark and purple so that the orange shades of the moon, the highlights of branches, and the deer stand out.
