Justice should never have an expiration date.
The statute of limitations for childhood sexual abuse (CSA) must be extended — or abolished altogether.
Many survivors don’t come forward until well into adulthood; some not until after age 53. Others never do.

Years after he was sentenced, another friend of that friend messaged me — the father had abused her too. She never reported. She wouldn’t even write in German anymore. Moved abroad. Still traumatized.
Many can’t speak. Their silence is not consent. It’s survival.

Encouraged by a therapist, I reported him at the small town’s police station before it was too late. Two years later, he was convicted: 6 months probation.
In Germany, where it happened, CSA must be reported by age 28.
