With virtually all ballots counted in #OH06, per the AP, Rulli's final margin over Kripchak is 9 points. This is a Trump+29 seat, so that's a 20-point overperformance for Democrats.
#OH06's ancestral blueness could go a long way toward explaining Kripchak's excellent performance tonight. I'm reminded of Conor Lamb's win in #PA18 in 2018. That was a Trump+20 district that still had a Dem registration advantage.
The AP has called the #OH06 special election for Michael Rulli (R), despite a truly impressive overperformance for Michael Kripchak (D). Some of these county-level overperformances would have been enough for him to win if replicated districtwide.

Election day votes are now coming in #OH06, and they're really good for Republicans. Kripchak now leads Rulli just 54–46%, and 71% of the vote is still uncounted.
It now looks like every county has reported early/absentee votes in #OH06, and Kripchak (D)'s lead stands at 61–39%. Now we wait and see how fast the election-day vote erodes that.
Hmm... With 12% of the vote reporting in #OH06, Michael Kripchak (D) actually leads Michael Rulli (R) 62–38%. These are early/absentee votes, so things will definitely get better for Republicans (who remain strongly favored to win), but it's a strong early showing for Dems.
