For the record, you don't actually have to live in #OH02 to be a congressional candidate. You just have to live in #Ohio.

Every state whose candidate filing deadline has passed has gotten Democratic candidates for all of their congressional districts.
This is important in case #BlueWave2026 occurs.
However, the #Ohio deadline is today, and I don't see an #OH02 Dem.
Anyone willing to step up? Be a write-in candidate?

There's an important lesson here: Bush had carried #OH02 by 28 points. Traditional thinking would have advised Dems to skip this race. Supermajority thinking urged them to take a chance. Hackett lost by just 3 points, and Dems flipped the House the next year. No question which approach was right.

Just a reminder (though real ones already know): This summer is the 20th anniversary of the legendary Paul Hackett vs. Jean Schmidt special election in #OH02. Hackett lost narrowly but overperformed hugely—a sign of what was to come in 2006.
