A landscape oriented infrared image taken in a local meadow. The bottom third is long gentle meadow grass with a path running through its centre towards a gateway through to the meadow beyond. Either side of the gateway mature oak trees form a hedgerow. We see more oaks in the distance. The sky above is filled with wonderful cotton wool clouds, the sort that a perfect for infrared.

An oak tree grows at the edge of a green meadow, bordered by other large oaks and smaller birches. It has leaned over a fence, so that its trunks grow parallel to the meadow and its crown reaches classically towards the bright blue and white sky.

This is one of my favourite #trees; a huge #oaktree that isn't impressed by #gravity.

"De eenzame eik" or The Lonelely Oak tree, was planted in (probably) 1792 on the Amerongse Berg which is part of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Still bare after the winter but it will be full of leaves again soon.
