I'm going to need your help! For #OccEnvMed and #LifestyleMed!
Interesting @medscape.com article today regarding #PhysicianWellness in the context of the #HiddenCurriculum.
Pretty near and dear to my heart as an #OccEnvMed physician.

Honored to talk about advocacy this morning in the 2025 Midwest Regional Education and Research Center Symposium sponsored by #NIOSH with @amira-adawe.bsky.social and Rebecca Reindel of AFL-CIO!
Esp. with NIOSH funding and #PublicHealth dangers to worker health/safety right now!!
#OccEnvMed
Good that media is covering HHS restructuring.
Of note, NIOSH is the primary or only source of funding for an entire specialty:
Occupational and Environmental Medicine #OccEnvMed
Relevant since AFAIK no specialty has been defunded before in medicine, on purpose or by accident 😳 #medsky
This issue will be a key topic at #AOHC2025 (the #OccEnvMed national conference) later this month.
If your ability to attend has been impacted, please contact #ACOEM CEO Craig Sondalle. Read the full message from ACOEM President Dr. Tanisha Taylor here:
acoem.org/Press-Center...
#ACOEM is taking urgent action:
-Engaging directly with members of Congress
-Collaborating with leading health and safety organizations
-Equipping members to advocate for #OccEnvMed and NIOSH

A message to #ACOEM members and the #OccEnvMed community – The recent staff cuts at #NIOSH and other HHS agencies are deeply concerning.
These changes could affect vital residency programs and the broader field of occupational and environmental medicine.

Yay! I haven't seen you in my feed yet I think... Or maybe because I follow you everywhere it's blending together.
But I assumed I would notice when I post #OccEnvMed posts and presumably you would like them 😅
Also relevant, we're probably going to lose the National #Firefighter Registry for Cancer, which was only just getting off the ground and is sorely needed because FF have greater than population risks of cancer, cardiac disease, and PTSD, let alone many hazards. 😳 #OccEnvMed
We had funding issues before because most #OccEnvMed residencies rely on NIOSH funding, which was already sparse, but this is way worse.
It's particularly bad because we're the most prevalent #publichealth trained specialty in clinical medicine. Which seems pretty relevant right now...
This is what I was talking about in my talk with regard to lacking trustworthy sources for #publichealth information!

First publication from our new Environmental Medicine/Exposure clinic!
Congratulations to our #OccEnvMed senior resident, Dr. Race Creeden on this excellent case report on aerotoxic syndrome! Importantly, it discusses the implications of workability/disability.
