As we head toward the end, our view of the Dunleavy Years. The good? Likely restrained spending better than replacement. The bad? Wayyy too late on proposing substitute revs, never addressed #OilTaxes & relatively useless APFC app'ts. #akleg

This Wk's Top 3| The way both sides talk about #OilTaxes is a big part of the problem, Persily understands the effect but is AWOL on the cause & the "there's no there, there" campaign for #AKgov. #akleg T'row, 6:05a on The Michael Dukes Show at buff.ly/v8f05yR

Some support #Begich4Gov b/c he proposes raising #OilTaxes & closing the S-Corp loophole. Both are good, but he also would con't DEEP PFDcuts ("most regressive tax ever proposed"), raising more from middle- & lower-income #AKfams than from #OilCos. #akleg buff.ly/Hn6TZXD

Even if the PFC had just started investing in an S&P 500 ETF at the end of FY20, by FY26, it would already be generating $700mil more in POMV than it is. That's more than expected from an increase in #OilTaxes. #akleg #akrevenues #LeavingMoneyOnTheTable

The Majority hasn't even introduced a basic bill to fix the Hilcorp Loophole, much less revise #OilTaxes or raise personal revenues in other ways than through PFDcuts ("the most regressive tax ever proposed"). I would suggest the problem starts with the Majority's failure to even try.

Opinion: Alaska’s future depends on responsible development – not new taxes The Legislature must prioritize growth and opportunity over new taxes.

Let's be clear. These Reps are making a choice to reduce the income of middle & lower-income #AKfams even further (thru PFDcuts) rather than reform #OilTaxes to match the original intent of SB21: more production = more state revenue. #OilCos over #AKfams. #akleg #disappointing

Why isn't the House Maj also looking at #OilTaxes? One reason: it's the deal they cut to bring Reps Kott & Stutes on board. They sold out #Working (middle & lower-income) #AKfams (by limiting revenues to PFDcuts) to have the votes to pass K-12 & defined benefits. #akleg

The defense of Alaska oil tax law is seriously misleading • Alaska Beacon The overall Alaska economy and most Alaskan families will end up paying more to make up for the oil companies paying less.
