A 1938 stock move sandwiched between two battery locos reverses in Highbury Vale goods yard, I have deduced the location from the tower block in the background (Clifton Court). Referencing the London Railway Atlas, it appears the stock moves would have had to clear the set of points under the middle car, so this train is just pulling away after reversal towards the ramp down to the Northern City Line (the Motorman's hand seems to be in a 'motoring' position).
#OnThisDay 55 years ago Highbury Vale goods yard closed, although the circuitous Northern City Line stock moves to/from Neasden Depot still reversed here until 1975 - one such move pictured here (Robert Gadson buff.ly/fmSENtV). The yard area is now Quill Street, N4
