I installed OpenSnitch today after having seen a post about it on BlueSky (I think). It's a nice application firewall which gives you even more control over what leaves your computer.

i was brought onto macOS from a young age, but it was the last straw when an apple update no longer allowed Little Snitch to block macOS' phone-home activities, rendering us unable to protect our privacy from OUR OWN personal devices! now i joyfully run #OpenSnitch, FOSS alternative.
For the average Linux user risk from 99% of threat vectors can be decreased by simply running #OpenSnitch and have it request network access for every new process on the system. And it doesn't require a lot of work and thought (e.g. #SELinux) apart from confirming popups every now and then.
