A stunning telescopic image of the Puppis A supernova remnant, showcasing its vibrant green-blue and red filaments. This 60 light-year-wide spectacle, located 7,000 light-years away, is a result of a massive star's explosion, its light reaching Earth approximately 3,700 years ago. The image reveals the remnant's expansion into the interstellar medium, with oxygen glowing in green-blue and hydrogen and nitrogen in red. Visible through the emission of the older Vela supernova remnant, Puppis A remains one of the brightest X-ray sources in the sky.
