🌎 Montezuma oropendola (Psarocolius montezuma) Montezuma oropendolas are striking birds with a distinct appearance. Males are larger, with a chestnut body, black head and rump, and a bright yellow tail. They have a bare blue cheek patch and a pink wattle. Females are similar but smaller. Both sexes have a long, orange-tipped bill. These birds are known for their impressive, hanging nests, which are often built in colonies. They are primarily found in tropical rainforests and are known for their loud, raucous calls.
