The targeting of innocent young women enjoying a day out on one of the country’s most popular pub crawl routes is truly horrific, and the incident has understandably caused shock and fear across our community. There has been widespread and damaging social media posts speculating about the suspect, who is currently under investigation by counter-terrorism police. We will be following developments in the case closely. The rise in violence against women and girls, often fuelled by online extremism, is deeply concerning.
