Thanks @PhysiciansPract for this great topic today. I enjoyed hosting this group of innovative individuals. See you all in less than a week. #HIMSs18 #P2mHealthChat
A5: We are not measuring proactive, preventive care. #wearables can assist physicians, caregivers and patients. These are measurable tools. However, time & $$ prevent widespread adoption. #P2mHealthChat
A4: Falls are the leading cause of fatal injury and the most common cause of nonfatal trauma-related hosp. admissions among aging adults. Half of fallers have multiple episodes. If we can better track, we can reduce the number of episodes, improving outcomes #P2mHealthChat
A4: Another area of focus in which we can see added value is in tracking ADLs /ODLs, to measure a pts ability to live alone. Tracking these thru #mhealth can mean the difference between independence and #LTC. We have limited tracking today.need widespread adoption #P2mHealthChat
A4: My personal list includes medication adherence. We haven’t quite turned the corner into an app that can track this wo manual input from the patient. #LTC, #Aging and #MentalHealth can greatly benefit from smarter bottles, reminders, etc. #P2mHealthChat #hcldr
A3: API’s. Google and Apple have been trying to improve their own health and fitness portals, with limited amount success. Look for direct compatibility with the major wearable makers, like @Fitbit and @Misfit. We need greater #IFTTT for #mhealth #P2mHealthChat
A3: When we change the healthcare paradigm from a reactive to a proactive model, then physicians will have the time and the ability to prescribe, rack and follow the progress made with #wearables. #P2mHealthChat
Culture and Mindset + Standards would propel #mhealth and #apps to the forefront. Hope we see a lot of this at #HIMSS18 #P2mhealthChat
A2: "nice to have" but bc of time restrictions and efficiencies, not "must have". We need to get to a standards that allow for "nice to have". #burnout #P2mhealthchat
A2: Physicians are still reluctant to “prescribe” mhealth apps, yet we’re making strides. My own cousins wont do this, but many have begun to see a benefit. #p2mhealthchat
A2: useful things like #diabetes management is becoming revolutionized with the ability to check blood sugar via an app and send the results to the Endocrinologist #P2mHealthChat
A2: We are sloooowly getting there. BABY steps. #mHealth apps are powerful tools revolutionizing #patientengagement and providing a unique opportunity to improve clinical outcomes. #P2mHealthChat
@DrLindaMD So glad you could join us! #P2mhealthchat
A1” #Telehealth allows patients to access care when care is otherwise inaccessible. Telehealth and Tele-Psych are areas that will ^ Care coordination, reduce readmissions. #P2mHealthChat
A1: We live in a mobile society. Everything we do is in “on the go”. Patients benefit from healthcare tools that fit within their lifestyle and habits. #P2mHealthChat #HIMSS18
