Here's my attempt to organize my thoughts around #PFF33!
I liked everything, so I just divided them up into 3 groups w/ S-Tier being the best & alphabetized them by tier.
I skipped all the big movies b/c I lost a weekend to Horror-thon. I'm hoping to catch up with them during their regular releases.

LA COCINA (2024) This paints a beautiful portrait of the hectic lives of the staff at a Times Square restaurant. A great ensemble filled with memorable characters, some you fall in love with and are incredibly frustrating (I'm looking at you, Pedro). #365Movies 373 #PFF33

BIRDEATER (2023) As a fan of awkward dinner scenes, I really cringed at this Australian bachelor party attended by the bride-to-be. There are a lot of secrets in this group of friends(?) and they're all hiding just under the surface. #365Movies 372 #PFF33

LUTHER: NEVER TOO MUCH (2024) I went in with very little knowledge of Luther Vandross, and I think I'm coming away a fan. Really interesting to see him go from a backing singer to a full-blown solo star. #365Movies 371 #PFF33

EEPHUS (2024) On a lazy Sunday the last game of the season is played for the last season before the field is paved over for a new construction in this nostalgic eulogy to rec-league baseball. #365Movies 370 #PFF33

APOCALYPSE IN THE TROPICS (2024) It's pretty nerve wracking to to watch this Brazilian documentary about an election where democracy is on the line and when the losing candidate refuses to concede his followers storm congress while he hides in Florida. #365Movies 369 #PFF33

DEAD TALENTS SOCIETY (2024) They say that you never truly die as long as the people who loved you still remember you. Alternatively, you can go viral as an urban legend by haunting people to make sure they still remember you. #365Movies 368 #PFF33

THE ROOM NEXT DOOR (2024) I just love watching Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore share the screen. Almodóvar delivers a thoughtful film about euthanasia that really focuses on the personal toll for everyone involved. #365Movies 367 #PFF33

A TRAVELER'S NEEDS (2024) Another closely observed fim about human nature from Hong Sang-soo. I just love the contrast between Isabelle Huppert's wuwu teaching style and her traditional Korean clients. #365Movies 366 #PFF33

TWO STRANGERS TRYING NOT TO KILL EACH OTHER (2024) Two artists who genuinely love each other (Maggie Barret and Joel Meyerowitz) navigate resentments from their different levels of success while facing the end stages of their lives. A truly intimate view of a marriage. #365Movies 365 #PFF33

THE RULE OF JENNY PEN (2024) Geoffrey Rush's nursing home is terrorized by John Lithgow's eyeless hand puppet. There is nothing else to say. #365Movies 364 #PFF33

ZURAWSKI V TEXAS (2024) It's simply rage inducing that so-called "pro-life" policies resulted in a nightmare scenario where women who want to be mothers are dying or rendered infertile b/c they aren't able to recieve proper medical care. The women featured in this are heroes. #365Movies 363 #PFF33

ERNEST COLE: LOST AND FOUND (2024) Documentary about the great South African photographer whose work influenced the way the world saw apartheid, only for him to die in obscurity. Really informative but the LaKeith Stanfield narration was a bit too laid back. #365Movies 362 #PFF33

THE QUIET ONES (2024) Fans of Michael Mann will enjoy this film about the largest robbery in Denmark. I feel like I was getting an excessive amount of information about location. It seems like every sceen takes place in a different town in Denmark or Sweden. #365Movies 361 #PFF33

THE KNIFE (2024) A stranger breaking into Nnamdi Asomugha's home is just the beginning of his nightmare, in his directoral debut. A tense drama that unfolds in almost real time. Anyway, never talk to the cops without a lawyer. #365Movies 360 #PFF33
