So in the end my #PWC2018 score was 24 points down on last year (although only 3 sp). It lacked a bit in terms of rarities, but there were still some nice birds seen. Non-photographed highlights included WB Diver in January, Marsh Warbler in May & Greenish Warbler in August.
Last patch visit of the year draws a blank, so I finish #pwc2018 on 137spp/160pts. Not my worse year at Collingham & Besthorpe despite a big drop in visits (88 vs 5 year average of 119), and found 3 patch ticks - Bearded Tit, Grey Phal and Velvet Scoter.
2 Waxwings v briefly at Collingham Pits next to adult Lagoon then flew W towards Carlton on Trent. Called as I got out of the car, then they were off! #pwc2018 @NottsBirders @NottsBirdingHQ
Great White Egret at Collingham on Wharf Pit. At last... #pwc2018 @NottsBirders @NottsBirdingHQ
Spotted Redshank still at Collingham Pits this morning on Ferry Lane Lake. Also 2 Egyptian Geese new for #pwc2018, and good numbers of Teal with 255 across site. @NottsBirders @NottsBirdingHQ
Couldn't track down the GWE at Collingham mid PM, however more than compensated by a Spotted Redshank on Ferry Lane Lake, my first here of the @PatchBirding era #pwc2018 @NottsBirders @NottsBirdingHQ
2 Bewick’s Swans on Chevington N pool this morning with 18 Whoopers. A bit of a county rarity these days! Also LT Duck, 3 Ruff, 3 Pintail. #PWC2018 @ElliottatChev
Yellow-browed Warbler showing well in sycamores east of the pine plantation at Druridge Pools. #PWC2018
Was thinking #pwc2018 would be the year I miss Spotted Fly on the patch, due to far less regular visits, but two in the willows at Mons Pool made my morning! Also Hobby and a few Mipits on the move #birdingwithbaby
Willow Tit also by the L-shaped hide at Chevington. Another #PWC2018 tick. 3 Wheatears in the dunes.
Greenish Warbler again briefly by the L-shaped hide at Chevington 10:10 though very elusive. Patch tick! Thanks @ElliottatChev! #PWC2018
Another cursory Saturday morning look at the patch with the little one, 1 Greenshank and 1 Green Sand the only waders of note... a Grey Wag over S was at least new for #pwc2018
Did our first patch seawatch of the autumn this evening, and the highlights just over an hour at Hadston Carrs were 2 Sooty Shearwaters, 39 Manx Shearwaters and single Arctic and Great Skuas, as well as a patch record flock of 6 Goosanders. #PWC2018
A 2cy Med Gull briefly at Meering this afternoon before flying upriver - just my second #pwc2018 addition of the summer...

My first #pwc2018 addition in the best part of two months... part of a marked increase In diving duck numbers, with over 320 Tufties at Collingham #slowgoing
Little new at Druridge Pools this evening but Spoonbill still from the Screen and Little Stint on the coal road pools. 3 Goosander north were a surprise year tick. #PWC2018
Just had another Hobby, this time on the patch at Druridge Pools! Lost as it appeared to fly south. Will post photos later. #PWC2018
Druridge coal road this afternoon: Pectoral Sandpiper, adult summer Little Gull, 2 Sanderling, drake Garganey & 2 Whoopers among others.
#PWC2018
Yesterday morning we had an unusual warbler singing from thick scrub on the east side of Druridge Bay Country Park. Have had a chance to listen my recordings, and with others advice, we’re now pretty certain it was a Marsh Warbler! #PWC2018 @ElliottatChev
Druridge coal road pools still really good this morning:
Glossy Ibis, Pectoral Sandpiper, 1 Little Stint, 1 Knot, 1 Ruff, 106 Ringed Plover, 11 Dunlin, 1 Garganey, 2 Whooper Swans.
#PWC2018
4 #PWC2018 ticks in 5 minutes - Gannet, Manx Shear, Sanderling and Sandwich Tern. @PatchBirding
Waders almost at plague proportions on Mons Pool - 1 Sanderling, 8 Ringed Plover, 1 Dunlin. I guess a Turnstone was a step too far... #pwc2018 @NottsBirders @NottsBirdingHQ
Fantastic selection on the coal road pools at Druridge this evening: Glossy Ibis, 2 Curlew Sand (same birds as Cresswell), Little Stint, Wood Sand, Avocet, 2 Blackwits, plenty of Dunlin, Redshank, Ringed Plover, Whooper, 4 Garganey (3 drakes) & first-summer Little Gull. #PWC2018
At long last, a Ringed Plover on the patch this morning, through the heat haze - far more than exciting than two people I don't know getting married... Hobby also new for #PWC2018
Druridge coal road this morning: Glossy Ibis, Little Stint, drake Garganey, Wood Sand, Arctic Tern, Whooper Swan and a brief but stunning adult summer Little Gull. #PWC2018

Finally scored a patch Whinchat (and no camo worn) #PWC2018
After going missing last year, there is a Turtle Dove purring on my patch!!! But only briefly and not in a usual spot, so maybe just passing through...?#pwc2018 #pleasestay 🤞
The Glossy Ibis was showing incredibly well this morning at Druridge...
