The top of a chest of drawers in the corner of a room is filled with a very large crocheted Minoan Snake Goddess statue, a small Snake Goddess figurine, a gold labrys, a pair of brown sacred horns, a bowl of dried palm leaves on a gold offering stand, a rustic sistrum, a pressed glass jar, a finger labyrinth, and a white plastic garbage bag containing a large lump of raw clay.
A batch of local clay from our property sits on the Snake Goddess altar, soaking in the vibes before I make some Minoan-style conical cups from it.

They include a broad yellow bowl full of linen thread and bay leaves, a small glass dish full of poppyseeds and a tiny green stone, three scallop shells, a black metal dish that holds an incense burner, three chestnuts, a square bottle full of blue liquid, a footed dish full of salt and the ash of incense charcoal, a small white marble bowl full of dried herbs, a footed cake stand that holds a bunch of dried lavender stems and a crocheted honeybee, a dried pomegranate, and a green glass paperweight.
The Minoan altar by the window in my studio is a busy place these days.

A square-sides bottle with a short neck is full of vivid blue transparent liquid, with a thin layer of glittery sediment in the bottom and another thin layer floating on top of the liquid. The bottle is stoppered with a cork and has several blue ribbons tied around the neck.
Posidaeja potion! We used this magic bottle as our "figurine" for the sea goddess Posidaeja in the labyrinth-walking ritual at Mystic South. If you shake it, a bunch of blue and silver glitter swirls around. It now has a special place on the Minoan altar in my studio.
