4 Owl eggs discovered in Texas, about to be eaten by predators. They were taken to an animal rescue sanctuary, where all of them hatched & survived. Photo 1 of 3 of their progress.

A view down upon two outstretched legs (from the base of the vertical photo to the top). The legs are exposed by the wearing of shorts, and each foot wears a sock and running shoe. But there the visual similarity ends. Two generations . . . 33 years between. The leg on the left [a right leg] is pale and hairless - the other [a left leg] is tanned, and not. One peaked at running 100 miles a week during high school, and as an adult survived a non-heart disease heart attack; the other, survived double cancer. So different - yet one part of the other. Mother and son. Survivors.
