The Atomic Bomb Dome in Hiroshima, Japan was nearly directly under the atomic bomb that exploded at 8:15 am, August 6, 1945. The remains of the building are still standing in the city center next to the Peace Memorial Park & Museum.

The bomb fell on the 6th of August 1945 at 8.15am. Tens of thousands were killed instantly in the blast. By the end of 1945 more than 140,000 people had died from the blast, burns and radiation.
