I finished the swatches for the Peduncle Silk. It's the coarsest silk sample I've spun so far. The silk is from the stem that the silkworms make to attach to a branch before it spins its cocoon.

I finished spinning and plying the second half of the Peduncle silk as well. Singles were 55 wpi, and I chain plyed them to get a 3 ply fingering weight, 14 wpi yarn about 26 yards to half an ounce.

Peduncle silk singles spun at 25 wpi on a bobbin on an Electric Eel Wheel 6.0

Sample 74 is Peduncle silk, which is fiber from the stem built to attach the cocoon to the branch. It feels more like a carded sliver wool than silk top. I spun the first half of the sample at 25 wpi.
