English: A stone relief from Roman London in the 3rd century A.D. It was found re-used as building material at Blackfriars. The Museum caption reads, "Limestone relief depicting four female figures sitting on a bench holding bread and fruit, a suckling baby, a dog and a basket of fruit. They are probably portraying the three native mother goddesses although the fourth figure cannot be explained".
Blessed Solstice, & Mother's Night to all!
"You who care for us and guide us,
You who visit the young mother,
And the babe in the cradle,
Who come when the light fades,
And wait for those who travel on straight paths,
We honor you."
