I found a map drawn by my GGGG grandfather (he surveyed for the #HBC)
It is a Deposition of Peter Fidler taken at Red River 4th August 1817. It shows #CuthbertGrant and the NW Co’s route they took to Seven Oaks, June 19th, 1816. They roughed up Peter and his son at Brandon House. #PemmicanWars N🔃S

Today's #OjiCree 🪶 learning curve taught me Ft. Alexander was named after my Uncle Alexander McKay. New France infrastructure at Ft. Maurepas was abandoned c.1763.

Alexander McKay was scalped aboard the Tonquin during the #PemmicanWars. He is my 5th great uncle.
