Outside the room, civil society organizations launched the #PeoplesAssembly, amplifying the voices of frontline communities - who cannot be inside the Court - demanding #ClimateAccountability.

Outside the Court, climate-vulnerable communities met for the 1st day of #PeoplesAssembly, which amplifies voices complementary to the ICJ climate proceedings. Today, we heard powerful statements from climate witnesses from Suriname, Kiribati, Vanuatu, India, Tuvalu & Sudan.

#PeoplesAssembly Coalition for Persons with Disabilities rep speaking on the need to use OECD DAC markers to track financial flows that impact people with disabilities, and on case for inclusion in procurement processes.

#PeoplesAssembly speakers highlighting that debt burden on developing countries has never been so high: not just to international institutions, but to private finance.

Not becoming a crisis of defaults because austerity cuts to public service: but a crisis none-the-less.
