There are two kinds of men in the film, Farhad (who is named after the Farhad-Shirin #Persian epic) and Hossein (the most famous Hossein in #Iran would be the Prophet Muhammad's grandson) and their personalities are very contrasting. Farhad is fun-loving, romantic while Hossein is an uncouth brute!😐
While Shayda is more inclined towards the cultural side, she reads poetry of #Hafez and likes to sing/dance over #Persian dance-pop numbers with her daughter (Mona) and teaches her about #Nowruz, while her husband gifts her daughter a medallion (a shabih of 🕋 Kaabah)
So far the #Iranian movies (or #Persian #movies) is that they feature the issues of their diaspora and probably the biggest issue is the religio-cultural shock they get when they move away from #Iran; Shayda is not very religious but her husband is (at least that's what we see from his actions)
