Grandstand is first broadcast from Lime Grove Studios with #PeterDimmock as the presenter. He presented the first two editions & three weeks later, he was replaced by sports commentator #DavidColeman.
The last edition was tx'd 28 January 2007.

It was created by #SirPaulFox, who thought of the idea while editor of #Sportsview.
The first ceremony took place in 1954 as part of Sportsview, and was presented by #PeterDimmock. #ChristopherChataway received the first Award.
