Vergina tomb near Alexander the Great’s hometown doesn’t belong to his father, study finds A new study refutes the belief that Philip II of Macedon was buried in Vergina’s Tomb of Persephone, pointing to an unknown elite instead.

A new study reveals the remains in Vergina's Tomb of Persephone aren't those of Philip II of Macedon, as once believed. The true identities remain a mystery, but the tomb's grandeur suggests elite status. #Archaeology #Vergina #PhilipII #AncientGreece #HistoryMystery
